It takes some issues, such as bad burns, scratched disks & coasters out of the picture & is a faster install. I like the 4GB ones, which costs far less than a quality 10 pack of DVD's, for Windows 7 & 8 installs. Yes, most brand name Flash drives are Lifetime guaranteed, though some Kingston ones are only for 5 years. It did install & run, though it started running slower in no time. ![]() I believe it happened while trying to run Ubuntu on it, instead of the approved method, I did a regular install, fully formatting it as ext3 (a Linux format). It just became slow as dirt, some 16GB no-name brand that I got on eBay for $10 or so. Fortunately, my luck with these devices has been better than what others have reported, I've only had one with issues, & didn't totally lose that one. ![]() That's one reason that I keep several around & backup those with data that I regularly access.
